Behzad Salari, M.D.

ABOUT

Behzad Salari, MD, is a compassionate pathologist who subspecialized in skin pathology (dermatopathology) and provides care for patients of all ages. His passion for dermatopathology centers on rendering the most accurate diagnosis while individualizing care to facilitate good patient outcomes and patient care. He is currently the CEO and Medical Director of Salari Skin pathology.

Dr. Salari has an extensive academic and medical professional background. He grew up in Tabriz, Iran and earned his medical degree from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. He moved to the United States to work as a research scientist at Harvard University for three years and learned a great deal from his world-renowned mentors.

He completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Washington University in Saint Louis. After developing a love for dermatopathology in residency, Dr. Salari completed a dermatopathology fellowship at University of Michigan.

Dr. Salari finds his career in dermatopathology rewarding and satisfying and has diagnosed more than 50,000 cases to date. He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, book chapters, and textbooks, including the prestigious Washington Manual of Surgical Pathology. He presented his work frequently at national meetings, including the American Society of Dermatopathology, the International Society of Dermatopathology, and United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. In addition, he served as an ad-hoc reviewer for the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology and the Annals of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Salari is fluent in English, Farsi, and Azeri, and has basic knowledge of Arabic language. Outside of work, his hobbies include traveling, spending time with friends, enjoying international food, and doing DIY projects at home.
